Who

We

Are

  • Owner & Director

“Structure builds safety. Safety builds confidence.”

I’ve always believed children deserve the same honesty and respect we expect from one another. Long before opening Roots & Wings, I spent years observing how children respond to tone, rhythm, and consistency — the subtle things that tell them the world is safe.

That understanding became the foundation for this daycare: a space where emotional safety is the first curriculum.

Growing up between two cultures taught me that care and independence aren’t opposites — they’re partners. Here, our days are structured but flexible, allowing every child to explore while knowing exactly where their boundaries lie.

At Roots & Wings, I see my role as both caregiver and architect. I design systems that give children stability, while encouraging creativity, empathy, and self-awareness. Every “why” behind what we do — from how we guide conflict to how we celebrate progress — reflects a balance between heart and reason.

This work is more than a calling. It’s a daily practice in presence, patience, and purpose — helping children build the roots of security and the wings of curiosity.

  • Lead Caregiver

“Children learn love by being loved.”

For me, childcare has never been just a profession — it’s an extension of family. My journey began more than twenty years ago, first as a mother and later as a caregiver trusted by many families. Originally from Iran, I moved to the United States with my husband about ten years ago. Today, we have a wonderful seven-year-old daughter who fills our lives with joy and continually reminds me of the importance of patience, empathy, and nurturing each child’s unique spirit.

My approach is rooted in observation and compassion. I pay close attention to the small details — the songs that soothe, the foods that comfort, and the subtle ways children seek connection. These moments guide how I care for each child as an individual.

At Roots & Wings, I strive to create a home-like environment filled with warmth, calm voices, and a predictable rhythm that helps children feel secure. Every interaction — from morning hellos to afternoon hugs — is an opportunity to model empathy and kindness through example. Watching children smile, learn, and grow into confident, caring individuals brings me endless joy.

When care is given consistently and sincerely, it becomes the greatest teacher of all.

  • The Heart of Roots & Wings

“We hire caregivers who teach by example — calm, kind, and committed.”

At Roots & Wings, every caregiver is chosen for both their qualifications and their character.

Our team is made up of individuals who understand that teaching goes far beyond lesson plans — it’s found in how we speak, how we listen, and how we handle each moment with care.

All caregivers maintain current certifications in Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and Preventive Health & Safety, meeting or exceeding California licensing requirements. Safety isn’t just a policy here — it’s a promise we keep every day.

But just as important as skill is spirit. Our staff members are:

    • Passionate about early childhood development and the science behind gentle, responsive care.

    • Trained to model emotional regulation and empathy, helping children learn from example rather than instruction.

    • Committed to professional growth, continuing education, and reflective practice.

    • Aligned with our values of honesty, patience, and mutual respect — because the way we treat one another shapes the energy children feel.

We believe the best caregivers are those who bring warmth, mindfulness, and genuine joy to the classroom.

Every member of our team embodies the same values that define Roots & Wings: safety, respect, consistency, and heart.

“Children become what they see. That’s why we lead with love, and model the calm we wish for them.”
